The FutureChurch Board of Trustees is proud to announce that Bishop Thomas Gumbleton will serve as Board Member Emeritus and welcomes Reverend Fred Daley, pastor of All Saints Parish in Syracuse NY and Dr. Shannen Dee Williams, professor of history at Villanova to the board of trustees.

“FutureChurch has always had a stellar board and with the addition of Bishop Gumbleton, Rev. Daley, and Dr. Williams, FutureChurch’s work will continue to be enriched and strengthened,” said Jocelyn Collen, chair of the board. “Their unconditional devotion to the Gospel animates their work and ministry and will help us expand our own work for Vatican II reforms and justice within the Church.”

“All of us have been inspired by theprophetic voices of our board members. Bishop Gumbleton’s work for justice, Rev. Daley’s prophetic action forLGBTQI inclusion and women’s ordination, and Dr. Williams prophetic call to endracism within the Church serve as guideposts for the work of FutureChurch,”said board member Sr. Andrea Koverman, SC.

“Nearly 30 years ago, FutureChurch wasformed by a small group of dedicated Catholics who believed, as collaborators, lay women and men in partnership with priests can help build a Vatican II church,” said FutureChurch board member, Patti May.  “What began under the leadership of Fr. Louis Trivison and Sr. Christine Schenk, CSJ continues to grow, nourished by God’s grace and dream for a church and world where the Gospel overcomes all forms of exclusion, inequality, and violence.”
